Demountable Panels
The third stage of the mitigation is the installation of flood panels and doors.
The demountable flood barriers are fully removable – so that when they are not needed there is hardly any evidence of the area being able to be quickly defended against flooding. These barriers work on level thresholds that can be paving or smooth finish concrete, with sockets anchors which have smart blanking bolts for when the system is not in use.
The barriers are designed to suite individual openings or layout as presented, and can be fabricated to allow for corners/ radiuses, steps as well as slopes.
A demountable flood barrier is often suited to sites where permanent protection is not practical, but a reliable physical barrier is still needed when flood risk is forecast.
This can include openings that need to remain clear for vehicles, pedestrians, deliveries, maintenance access or daily operations. Demountable systems are commonly considered where the site has enough warning time before floodwater reaches the opening and where trained staff, residents or facility managers can install the panels safely.
-
The opening must remain clear during normal use.
-
The site has warning time before floodwater arrives.
-
Staff, residents or managers can safely install the panels.
-
The barrier needs to be removed after the flood risk has passed.
-
A permanent flood wall would restrict access, appearance or operation.
-
Targeted protection is needed for specific opening
Each Panel Barrier is designed to meet the specified loads which may include debris or wave impact loads as well as hydrostatic loading to a given flood height. Barriers systems up to 4m in height can be designed an implemented, using 300mm high individual interlocking beams.
BENEFITS
USES

Fully removable perimeter defence to buildings.
-
A ‘usually stored’ system for erection when flood warnings received.
-
A ‘usually erected’ system for full time flood defence until access required.

Flood Doors
Waterproof doors and frames are manufactured using galvanized steel and are powder-coated to client’s colour specification. Doors manufactured using stainless steel are available where requested. FCI flood proof doors utilize adjustable gaskets that are adjusted upon installation to ensure the correct level of compression is applied all the way around the door opening
